When you complete your registration form for a safety deposit box you
may nominate one other person to have access to the contents of your
box. Upon payment of the fee and key deposit you are issued with two
secondary keys to a safety deposit box which is issued to you for an
agreed period.
Each box has a dual keyed locking mechanism.
To open the lock of the safety deposit box door two keys are needed,
our guard uses a primary key and simultaneously you will have to use
your secondary key.
You can then remove the bond box to a private viewing room. These rooms
provide a comfortable environment where you can add to, remove or view
the contents of your box.
This means that unlike banks we Do Not have a copy of the secondary key, therefore no one but you or your nominated party will have access to your valuables. ##
## IMPORTANT NOTE.
Security of the keys issued to you is imperative. There are only two
keys for the secondary lock of each safe deposit box. If you lose these
keys the only way to access the contents of the safety deposit box is
to drill the locks.
Drilling locks is time consuming and expensive as we have a number of steps to implement prior to this happening. Firstly, we have to contact our solicitors, Minter Ellison, advise them of the circumstances, receive back written confirmation, then have a locksmith, JP or Commissioner of Declarations present in conjunction with an authorised TRV Manager as the box is being drilled. The lock is then replaced, paperwork filled out again, sent off to all parties concerned and only then is the box able to be used again.
